So many people complain about Hipsters, and how pretentious and ‘Arty Farty’ they all are, yet the people that accuse them, are the ones going around with I-phones, spending half an hour taking a picture of a mug of tea on a iphone with instagram, with some shitty filter. Seriously People? Hipsters get all this shit because they actually bother to do something half decent. At least I go out with my 35mm SLR camera, with a 100 ISO roll of film, and gradient camera lens filters, and get something authentic and not shitty. I’d like to see some of you Instgrammers trying to figure out exposure and light meter readings manually, and buying and developing the film yourself.

Were some of the first people to inspire me to be a filmmaker.
I’d listen to Tubular Bells and the American Beauty soundtrack every night before I went to bed and imagine all the images that would go with them making up stories and colours and scenes. I’d listen to ‘Any other name’ and rewind and play it again, and again and again, until i’d perfected my story for the night. I never got tired of those songs, and as i’ve got older i’ve just added to my lists of wonderful talented musicians who inspire me everyday. Art is the most important and beautiful thing in the world to me as so much meaning comes from it that can touch someone in so many ways they never thought imaginable.
